This is the first time I have written on here because I decided I would only write something that hit me personally. Well it has happened.
I was lucky that I missed most of the 2016 Presidential campaign but unlucky in the fact that I was comatose for 36 days and in the hospital for a total of 93 days. I will not go into what caused my hospitalization because that has no baring on this blog.
My loving wife worked nights as a nurse so she could be available to our children in the daytime. Also she felt a need to work because I was a public school teacher who did not make enough to give to our children what they deserved. Thirty years ago this month she suffered a stroke at age 51. That stroke left her without the ability to form long lasting memories. As a result of her condition I took on among other things the job of cooking all our meals.
Now to get to the point. This last July when I at the age of 81 wound up unable to cook for my wife, she began getting Meals on Wheels. It was a way for her to remain in her own home. Our daughter could check in on her and provide her meals on week-ends. We have never had to take any form of assistance prior to this and even this we feel we have paid for since we contribute $100.00 a month to Meals on Wheels.
My recuperation is slow and I have yet to try to do the cooking so we continue to receive Meals on Wheels. I knew that when Trump got around to it he would hit me where it hurt. You see I am one of those losers he was always talking about. I chose to be a public school teacher, knowing that I was condemning my family to a below average income. But some of us have a calling that does not involve wealth.
Even with the hardships of this past year I have determined to outlive the Trump era. At this point I cannot see the possibility of him getting re-elected. The next president will have a lot to do to clean up after him.
